Breeze Airways Launches New Routes to Key West, Albany, and Greensboro as Part of Its Ongoing Expansion, Strengthening Its Presence in Florida and Key US Markets

Breeze Airways is celebrating its fourth anniversary with remarkable growth in the U.S. aviation market. By June 2025, the airline has ascended to the 15th position for U.S. flight operations and the 11th for available seat capacity, thanks to its expanding fleet of 54 Airbus A220-300s and Embraer E190s and E195s. As part of its ongoing expansion, Breeze has introduced three new destinations to its route map: Albany, Greensboro, and Key West. Additionally, the airline has returned to Denver with flights that began in May 2024, marking a strategic shift after the exit of a previous competitor from the Colorado capital in 2022.

New Flight Routes: Albany, Greensboro, and Key West

Breeze Airways’ expansion continues with new routes to previously underserved airports, focusing on a mix of domestic and regional destinations. Most of these new routes are scheduled twice weekly, adhering to the airline’s standard operational model. However, some routes to Key West will see more frequent service. The addition of Albany, Greensboro, and Key West signals Breeze’s commitment to tapping into emerging markets with fresh opportunities.

  • Albany: Breeze is now offering flights to Charleston, starting on June 13, and Raleigh/Durham, which launched on June 5. The Albany-Charleston route is a new entry with no previous carrier offering this direct connection. Meanwhile, Albany-Raleigh/Durham saw 21,300 round-trip passengers in 2024, as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
  • Greensboro: Breeze also inaugurated flights from Greensboro to Hartford and Orlando International, starting June 6. The Greensboro-Hartford connection is especially noteworthy, as it has never been serviced by any other airline. Additionally, Breeze will provide twice-weekly flights to Orlando International, a route previously operated by a now-defunct airline in 2023.
  • Key West: Key West, a highly sought-after destination in Florida, is now part of Breeze’s network, with flights from both Orlando and Tampa. These new routes began on June 12, replacing a former airline operator. Breeze will initially operate six weekly flights from Tampa, which is a reduced frequency compared to the previous carrier’s 17 weekly flights. However, Breeze is stepping into a ready-made market, as nearly 49,000 round-trip passengers flew between Tampa and Key West in 2024.

Adjustments in Breeze’s Network

While Breeze has been adding new destinations, it has also made strategic decisions to discontinue certain routes. Notably, the airline has ceased operations to Mobile International Airport and Plattsburgh. Breeze served Mobile International from Orlando between April 2024 and January 2025, following the exit of another carrier that briefly operated the route. Presently, no commercial flights are available to Mobile International.

Plattsburgh, located near Montreal, was another seasonal route for Breeze from Orlando and Tampa between November 2023 and April 2025. However, the airline struggled with lower-than-expected demand, filling only about 70% of available seats. As a result, Breeze has ceased operations on this route. Allegiant now serves Plattsburgh with flights from multiple Florida cities.

Expanding Presence in Florida and Beyond

With the addition of Key West, Breeze now operates in 11 airports across Florida, strengthening its footprint in the state. This expansion is in line with Breeze’s goal to provide affordable, direct flights to underserved destinations. As the airline continues to grow, its commitment to filling gaps in the market and offering new routes has reshaped its role in the U.S. aviation landscape. Whether entering fresh markets or replacing other carriers, Breeze’s proactive approach underscores its dedication to offering travelers more options and convenient travel experiences across the nation.
