A 46-year-old man was driving his semitrailer on the A13 motorway from Oberriet in the direction of Sennwald. In heavy rain, the 46-year-old lost control of his semitrailer, and it skidded. He first crashed into the central barrier, where the semi-trailer truck was rejected to the right and crossed the roadway. The articulated lorry then crashed into the edge barrier and came to a standstill on the sloping edge of the meadow while the semi-trailer protruded into the roadway.
The 46-year-old was not injured. There was property damage worth tens of thousands of francs. The accident caused traffic delays. Until the vehicle was recovered shortly before 9:30 a.m., the accident scene could only be passed in the overtaking lane. This resulted in a backwater up to the Oberriet connection point.
